Life Meaning: Supporting a Worthy Cause Can Help Give Life Meaning

http://stress.about.com/od/optimismspirituality/a/meaning.htm

If you have more time than money, you can really make a difference in a charity or political cause that’s important to you by donating your time. This a a great route for many people as it leads to the satisfaction of making a difference, provides an outlet to meet others who share your passion, and often allows you the opportunity to see the difference you make and the people you help.

Support Charity through Social Media

http://nirantaradrusti.wordpress.com/2010/02/11/support-charity-through-social-media/

We are not a wealthy family when it comes to money, but richer than Midas when it comes to being informed.  In my family we have been most affected by cancer, heart disease, substance abuse, child abuse(I taught abused children), arthritis, diabetes, fibromyalgia,etc.) Autism has affected a friend and dyslexia and learning problems. to go. I'm hooked to the causes that will give you more information. This week I received an email from a class of students who are using some of my pgs. to understand substance and sexual abuse. I felt like that by giving my time I may have made a difference in someone's life. No feeling is better than that and many of us can do this.   It doesn't take much to make a difference.

I live in pain every day of my life and let it , at one time, control my life. Why this song? I let it go and put my mind on more important things.

The History;
Awareness Ribbons go all the way back to 1917 when the Yellow Awareness Ribbon, which is used to show support for Military serving abroad. It was written into a marching song that was sung by the military. In 1970, that same ribbon was introduced into another song, "Tie a Yellow Ribbon 'Round the Ole Oak Tree". This song was about a woman whose husband was taken hostage in Iran. In 1986 the AIDS Faith alliance, later known as the Christian Action on AIDS, held a conference and the rainbow ribbon was introduced. In the 1990"s this color was changed to Red, the color of Passion. Since then ribbon colors have been used for a variety of causes and are used to symbolize various concerns depending on the color and pattern.
